Is Uncertainty a Fraud-Fighters' Kryptonite?

Published on: 7th February, 2023

Fraudology is presented by Sardine.

It seems like everyone in tech, and especially within the niche of the anti-fraud industry, is exceptionally overwhelmed and stressed out. On today's episode of Fraudology, Karisse discusses the impact of stress and burnout on the fraud-fighting community, sharing her own experiences of burnout and how it led to both positive and negative outcomes in her life.

Through her own experience, and from listening to the impact of uncertainty on other fraud-fighter's lives, she's noticed several qualities of a fraud-fighter that help them be exceptional at their jobs but can make it especially difficult to deal with uncertainty & the stress that comes with it.

Karisse also highlights the importance of acknowledging and addressing stress and uncertainty prior to them leading to total burnout. Stress is a common theme among fraud fighters, who take their job seriously and personally among other traits that can make them prone to total burn out, and potential health issues. Karisse encourages listeners to find new ways to adapt to their current situation or make a decision to make a change in their career environment to maintain their health and well-being.

Fraudology is hosted by Karisse Hendrick, a fraud fighter with decades of experience advising hundreds of the biggest ecommerce companies in the world on fraud, chargebacks, and other forms of abuse impacting a company's bottom line.
