Visa's New Fraud Measures: What European Merchants Should Prepare For

As Visa retires its Visa Fraud Monitoring Program (VFMP) and Visa Dispute Monitoring Program (VDMP) by April 2025, the new VAMP initiative introduces a more rigorous framework for managing fraud and disputes.

Effective January 2026, tighter chargeback thresholds will be in place, and acquirers will face greater scrutiny and potential fee increases. Merchants and acquirers alike must understand and prepare for these changes to mitigate risks and maintain compliance.
